Welcome to the official website of the Central New York Ladies of Sigma Gamma Rho, serving the greater Finger Lakes Region.

Since 1981, Sigma Gamma Rho has been making its impact on the Central NY region through "Greater Service, Greater Progress." We are women of substance who are united in sisterhood.  We don’t fit the typical sorority mold; rather we redefine expectations in all that we do.

If you are unfamiliar with Sigma Gamma Rho, this is a great place for you to start. On this site, you can find information about the organization, our chapters, our affiliates and programs.

Please contact us if you have questions regarding membership, our programs and/or are looking to partner with us. Feel free to join our mailing list so that you can get updates directly. We are very excited to share our journey with you as we travel down the RHOad to 100 years of Sisterhood, Service and Scholarship!

For more information feel free to visit our national site at www.sgrho1922.org

Sigma Gamma Rho’s commitment to service is expressed in its slogan, “Greater Service, Greater Progress.” We have a proud history of providing positive and proactive community outreach. Sigma Gamma Rho enhances the quality of life for women and their families in the U.S. and globally. Over 500 chapters in the U.S and abroad openly welcome women aspiring to advance sisterhood, scholarship, and service.

Scholarship

At a time when an education for African Americans was difficult to attain, the Founders of Sigma Gamma Rho became educators. They believed that the self-respect, knowledge and discipline gained through education would help individuals to recognize their duty and responsibility for their society.  Thus, Sigma Gamma Rho was founded on the precept of education and continues to promote and encourage high scholastic achievement.
